Alongside the launch of Oppo N3, Oppo R5 is company's first device with a 64-bit CPU architecture. Constructed out of aluminium alloy with hand polished frame, the Oppo R5 is a 5.2" Full HD (423ppi) screen giant which is powered by Qualcomm's 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 CPU clocked at 1.5 GHz and Adreno 405 GPU. Other specs include 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal memory, 13MP camera with Sony imaging sensor, 5MP front shooter, Bluetooth 4.0, LTE connectivity. The camera is capable of recording 2K videos @30fps, 1080p@60fps and 720p slow motion video @120fps.
R5 packs a 2000 mAh battery which has a turbo charge variant also. On the software side, R5 features Oppo's ColorOS 2.0 which is a customized version of Android 4.4 KitKat. The device is very much heat conductive as it has aluminium body which keep this beast cool. This helps to cool down the device from the CPU heat.
Oppo R5 misses the 3.5mm audio jack because of its thin body. But you can use a microUSB to audio jack adapter which comes with the package. R5 is so thin that it cannot occupy a 3.5mm audio jack!
The Oppo R5 will be up for retail for $499. Launch dates are not available yet.
